Town Hall Meeting

Community Town Hall Meeting

In response to the recent announcement regarding rental rate increases and changes to our fee schedule for the upcoming fiscal year (2024-2025), the Board of Directors invites you to a Town Hall Meeting.

As stewards of our beloved co-op, we understand the importance of transparent communication and community engagement. We recognize that the decision to adjust rental rates and fees impacts each of us, and we are committed to ensuring that every member has the opportunity to voice their questions, concerns, and suggestions.

During this gathering, we will provide insights into the rationale behind the proposed changes, including the factors driving the adjustments, such as increased University Requirements and other unavoidable expenses. Our management team and Board of Directors have diligently crafted a budget aimed at maintaining CTC's vitality and sustainability while upholding our mission as a member-driven, nonprofit organization.

Moreover, we reaffirm our unwavering dedication to providing well-maintained and affordable housing for all co-op residents, particularly our co-op members. We remain steadfast in our commitment to offering rental rates and fees that are below market standards, ensuring that CTC remains an accessible and inclusive community for all.

This Town Hall Meeting serves as an open forum for dialogue and collaboration. We encourage all members to attend, ask questions, and share their perspectives. Your feedback is invaluable as we navigate these changes together, ensuring that CTC continues to thrive as a vibrant and supportive community for years to come.

We look forward to your participation and constructive engagement at this important event.

Open Meeting and Discussion

Join us at our monthly CTC Board Meetings!! It’s essential (and easy!) to learn more about how your board and the co-op operates. Increasing your understanding and participation as a member contributes to a more efficient and effective cooperative.

We welcome and encourage everyone to attend our monthly Board meetings, as well as get involved. Bring your questions, feedback, and ingenuity for an open discussion at the beginning of the meeting. Board meetings typically take place on the fourth Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm in the Community Center Meeting Room (first floor).

Update:

Meetings will be held either in-person, virtually, or a hybrid of the two. To join, please email ctc@umnctc.org for the meeting information.

Community Voices

Beyond the meeting, our co-op welcomes Community Voices year-round! CTC's Management and Board review all submissions for discussion and evaluation at the upcoming monthly board meeting. So don't hold back: your ideas and feedback contribute to the better representation of the community and, in turn, enriches the co-op for present and future generations! More on Community Voices.
