Board of Directors Corner
Greetings Neighbors!
Typical of a very densely populated urban area, parking at CTC has and continues to be problematic. The current board has taken note of this recurring resident concern and determined that change was necessary.
Through a difficult but thoughtful decision-making process, and after careful consideration with management, we have passed a new parking policy effective July 1, 2018.
We have amended the parking policy to remove all second car designations and have the same parking permit for both first and second car. The additional charges still apply for second car permits. In addition, designated visitor parking spaces will remain. Signage and permits will be updated in the coming month to reflect these updates. Through the transition, first and second car permit holders may begin parking in either designated space.
Secondly, we have voted to change the current visitor parking policy by adding a fee to thirty (30) day visitor passes (as of July 1, 2018) to discourage second car owners from abusing the visitor spots. Visitor passes are still free of charge for one week and one day passes.
We look forward to working with you all to ensure a smooth transition to these changes. The situation is such that while there are ample parking spaces available for residents and visitors, not all of these spots are conveniently located to all residents. Furthermore, more congested areas suffer from not always meeting resident expectations. In an effort to address the fluctuation in number of second car permits and give fair access to more favorable parking, the Board saw this as the optimal solution.
If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to join us at a board meeting, email me (gwbell@umn.edu), or contact the management team.
Thanks,
