Welcoming New Board Members
Congratulations to the new board members, Dustin Chernick, Yaddy Yuhong Yin, Kate Sammons, and Matthew Young who will be starting their new Board duties this month. These residents were voted on at the Annual Meeting held April 20, 2017. The new term will start July 1, 2017.
Please see our new Board of Directors Wall that will be finished next week.

July rent is due on July 1, 2017, but no later than July 5, 2017. A $50 late fee will be assessed for all rent not submitted by 4:30pm, July 5th.
Reminder: The CTC office has two drop boxes for rent. One inside the Community Center Building to the left of the rental office door and one outside the Community Center Building on the West Side of the building with an “After Hours Drop Box” sign.
Weed Control
Hard surface (sidewalks) and mulch bed weed control will be starting Monday, July 3, 2017 until completed. It typically is completed by the end of August.
Proper posting and signage will be applied to keep children and pets off until dry. The general dry time is 24 hours. No treatments will be applied close to playground areas or inside the fenced areas around the community center.
All applications will be done Monday- Thursday during the hours of 8:00AM-3:30PM. No applications will be made Friday-Sunday.
All fertilizers and weed control chemical listings are available on the CTC Website and CTC front desk.
NEW Fixit Bike Service Station
We are excited to announce that we now have a Fixit Service station located on the North side of the community center. Please see our full website for pictures and more details. The Fixit Service Station includes all tools necessary to perform basic bike repairs and maintenance, from changing a flat to adjusting brakes and derailleurs.
National Night Out Coordinators needed
Consider being a National Night Out Event Coordinator Volunteer!
This is a great way to get involved in the community and we need 1 volunteer from each ward to help out on August 1, 2017.
Each ward needs a NNO Event Coordinator contact person to post necessary flyer invitations, answer questions, enter each household into the drawing, help set-up and work with the other joining ward event coordinator.
The goal is to gather as many residents from the community to enjoy the evening event.
Volunteer Coordinator training session will be held on Thursday, July 26th at 5:30pm in the Community Center Fire Place Room to review event details and distribute all necessary potluck materials.

St. Anthony Park- 4th of July Festivities
Feeling nostalgic or maybe a little patriotic? Head to the St. Anthony Park neighborhood on Saturday, July 4, for the 68th annual Fourth in the Park celebration.
The day will begin with the Langford Park Distance Races and feature a parade that winds down Como Avenue to Langford Park, where activities will include a patriotic program (with this year’s Patriotic Essay award winners); horseshoe, volleyball and tennis tournaments; and music by the St. Anthony Park Community Band and Pig’s Eye Jass Band at the Langford Park bandstand.

Summer Sports
New volunteers needed to run summer sports. No more weekly pick-up games will be scheduled at this time. Feel free to sign out sporting equipment from the front desk for Pickle ball, Badminton, basketball, kickball or soccer.
Teen Outing- United Soccer Games
We again have been offered free tickets to go to a Minnesota United Soccer game. We have actually been offered tickets for two games for this summer. We are given 15 tickets which is for 3 chaperones and 12 youth. Sign up will happen on a first come first served basis, so if you want to sign up, email back immediately.
Two game options:
- Houston Dynamo at MN United FC. 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, 19 July.
- Seattle Sounders FC at MN United FC. 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, 5 August.
Guidelines:
- Youth that signs up must be between the ages of 12-17 years old.
- We must have at least 2 Chaperones, but 3 would be best.
- A photo of your child will be taken at the event.
If you would like to sign up for this soccer game, we will be taking the first 12 youth to sign up only. Please email shanea@umnctc.org with the youth name, parent’s name, CTC address, youth email, and parent email. One youth may sign up for both games. If you are interested in Chaperoning, please also let me know.

Kids global clean up and pizza party
CTC Youth will be dedicating time on July 8th at 1:00pm to clean up the CTC grounds from trash broken toys. Any Youth wanting to participate in this clean up, please contact Locke at locke.newell@gmail.com.

Soccer Clinic
CTC Youth will be volunteering their time by putting on a soccer camp every Saturday starting July 8th through August 12th. The camp will be from 5:00PM-6:30PM and is for all age groups.

Come to the Fireplace Room to meet with meet new friends, share stories in English and listen to others’ stories. Enjoy coffee or tea and treats. Just come, listen and talk in English! It’s FREE! All residents are welcome, even those who already speak English.
Events at Langford Recreation Center

Family 4th of July events- Join the Langford Community for this free family celebration. Kiddie parade, volleyball, horseshoes, tennis, music, and games. Concessions will be sold. Many Volunteers Needed! Call 651-298-5765 to Volunteer.
Soccer (Sanneh)- The Sanneh Foundation along with St. Paul Parks and Rec is offering free soccer clinics this summer. Clinics are for youth ages 5-12 years old. Topics covered include basic skill training, speed and agility development, attacking, defending, small-sided games and tactics. Meals and/or snacks may be provided at the camp.
Summer Blast - Summer Blast is a program for school-aged children who have completed grades K - 5, held at selected recreation centers throughout the City of Saint Paul. Summer Blast offers recreational, cultural, social, and enrichment programs. Activities include but are not limited to: art, field trips, sports, games, library activities, cooking, swimming, and movies. No program July 3 & 4.
